I went to two National Day celebrations (Singapore's 38th) in the Bay Area for August 9, 2003. One was at Contact Singapore's lovely premises at Twin Dolphin Drive, Redwood City.The other was quite a bit further northeast, at a private residence belonging to a Singapore Club board member at Walnut Creek. Both events were most enjoyable and I hadquite a fill of Singapore food. (though $US 6 for 6 pieces of satay.... that's a little ouch even for a taste of home!)
