Brief visit to San Francisco, California, for about 4 days in August 2001 before CMU term started, visiting friends who were on internship or studying there.While it was my second visit there, it was the first I really got to explore the place outside aKen-Air tour group environment.
Places toured included a drive down the Pacific 1 highway all the way to Monterey, the 17-and-a-halfmile drive along Pebble Beach Golf Course, and a long drive back on the 101 (congestion?).Yosemite National Park, another long day of driving, starting in the early morning, seeing windmillsand then an afternoon of touring, and driving to the top of a mountain to see a sunset overthe granite dome.
Finally, some eateries in one of the Chinatowns, and a bit of touring around UC Berkeley.
